第九届『方正奖』字体设计大赛获奖结果已于近日公布,作为中国两年一届的传统字体赛事,这一届会有什么好的字体出现,又会有哪些新星冒出来呢?今天,让我们逐个看过来,一睹本届大赛获奖字体的魅力。
方正字体大赛自第八届起,
在中文字体设计竞赛之外,
加入了“拉丁字体设计”竞赛单元,
旨在提升中文字库中西文字符的设计水平,
加强中西设计文化交流,
也使大赛更加国际化。
每次大赛组委会都邀请到了专门评审拉丁文组的评委,
下面就让我们来看看他们甄选出的获奖作品。
优秀奖
三等奖
手写英文
作者:盛贤杰
创作理念:
手写了一组拉丁字母,字体设计融合了罗马的衬脚与手写的动感,用圆角线构造字母摒弃多余衬饰,微微倾斜即规整宜辨又不失个性美感。
评委评语
This typeface combines capitals that look like handmade imitations of an Egyptian italic style, and small letters in a monoline script style. In small sizes the letters appear connected, but in reality all letters stand alone. This lively combination make for an imaginative and witty style, that can be used in a variety of ways.
这款字体结合了模仿埃及体斜体风格的大写体,小写字母则具备单行手写风格。当以小字号呈现时,字母看起来相连,但现实中这些字母都是独立出现的。活力的组合让整体风格充满诙谐和想象力,并能在多种情境中使用。
回旋体

创作理念:
以拉丁文非衬线体字母为基础,进行再创作。
评委评语
This typeface demonstrates an truly original concept with dense, linear patterns enclosed in squares. These can spell out words at the same time as appearing as decorative elements. It is executed with consistency and care, across all letters, resulting in a surprisingly effective system of representing short phrases.
这幅作品拥有很强的原创概念,在方形中包裹着线性图案。既可以拼成词语,同时也可以作为装饰元素使用。每一个字母的细节处理精细,作为一套字体,又拥有统一性。最终在组合成短词组时,视觉效果惊艳。
Base Sans

创作理念:
几何造型的拉丁文设计,具有很强的秩序感和精致感。适用于科技、机械、体育、医药等领域的文字排版。
评委评语
This typeface looks at first sight like a monospace, but it has subtle differences amongst letters. The style appears simple, but this makes it very demanding, and the precise handling of the curves is done well, giving it a controlled angularity. It has good spacing, especially for smaller sizes, indicating detailed skills by the designer.
这款字体第一眼会认为是等宽字体,但在具体字母处理上有细微的差异。这种风格看起来很简单,但真实设计中需要对角度、曲线有极强的控制力。在小字号字间距的准确处理中,显示出设计师对于细节的专业技巧。
二等奖
Slabrush

创作理念:
Slabrush 是一款具有粗粝笔触保留的版衬线体。它实验性地将版衬线的印刷特征与手写体的强烈笔触相结合,以求营造出一种新颖、诙谐的独特艺术效果。这一次,Slab-Serif 将脱除它『精准且刻板』的标签,展现不羁与狂放的色彩。
评委评语
A typeface that at first instance gives the impression of a worn print from old metal type, but that on closer inspection reveals a careful and detailed treatment of irregularities. The range of stroke widths and alignments create a wonderfully playful effect in text, which is also very readable. The impression is of typographic pleasure.
这款字体给人的第一感觉是旧金属活字,但仔细看会发现设计师对于细节的处理十分精巧而不规则。不同的笔画粗细与排列创造出文本的趣味,可读性也很强。这是属于文字带给人的愉悦感。
丝
作者:吕方俏
创作理念:
丝,与中文字体作品《正圆》相互映衬而设计的一件英文字体作品,笔画纤细、柔和。营造温和、现代、简洁的视觉享受。
评委评语
A convincing design taking the reduction of the strokes to the extreme, which requires a high level of skill. It appears suitable for use in large sizes, where the simplified, thin strokes will work well. The open counters add a playfulness to the reduced style, in a manner that adds character without hindering its usability.
笔画设计中将减法做到了极致,这需要创作者本身有极高的水平。简约的细体字非常适合大字号环境下使用。开放的字谷让极简风格增加了趣味,既为文字本身增加了其辨识度,也没有影响到真实的使用环境。
一等奖
钢笔拉丁

创作理念:
设计一套仿钢笔手写书信的拉丁字体。
评委评语
A flowing script combining, like a Chinese river, smooth elements and dynamic curves, that is surprisingly agreeable to read. When composed in text it has a good rhythm, with round and angular forms balancing repeating shapes and the contrast of joining strokes. It is overall a very good, readable connected script with a personality of its own.
流畅的手写文字相连,流淌如一条中国的河流,拥有顺滑的元素和极富动态的曲线,文字本身仍可以保有足够的可读性。当组成文本时可以有很好的韵律,连接处的结构与重复形状在字体组合中形成具有对比性的动态平衡。整体是一款很好的,既拥有独特个性,又具备可读性的连接手写体。
